Srishti Tiwari
Srishti graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. As an undergraduate, she worked under Dr. Erik Nelson, where she investigated the role of the cholesterol metabolite 27-hydroxycholesterol in breast cancer progression, specifically looking at macrophage polarization. Following graduation, Srishti joined the lab of Dr. Myriam Labelle at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a researcher, focusing on the effects of age, specifically the role of a chemokine, CXCL7, on cancer metastasis. She recently joined the Nacev Lab for her Ph.D. dissertation. Her project aims to understand the mechanisms by which ATRX-deficient sarcomas evade immune surveillance. Outside of the lab, Srishti enjoys trying new recipes and restaurants in the Pittsburgh area. She loves being active by practicing the Indian classical dance form, Kathak.
